February 7, 2008 Dear Guests, It is an honor to have you in attendance at the first annual Age of Aquarius Art Auction.
Chris and I cannot express enough the overwhelming feelings of gratefulness we have for our loved ones and support
net. Losing Lillian May has proven to be one of the most difficult experiences either one of us has witnessed.
Without the support of The Colorado SIDS Program, Inc., family, and friends I don’t know how we would be “moving
on”. Honestly,
our daughter’s spirit is what wills us to “move on” the most. As they say, “Those
we have held in arms for a short while, we hold in our hearts forever.” We are so thankful that Lilly
was able to grace us with her smiling eyes, wild cowlick, and cutest ever gully-gully; even if it was much shorter then we
had expected. When the unexpected and unexplained Sudden Infant Death Syndrome took our daughters life,
we were lost, so lost. Sometimes, I think were still lost. We know one thing for sure
though; The Age of Aquarius Annual Art Auction will reflect our hope and faith in the greater plan known as life. Without all of those
who took the time to meet and organize, without the artists that have contributed wholeheartedly, without those who have donated
raffle prizes, and without those who are in attendance today; this event would not make the impact that we had envisioned.
The demonstrated support we are witnessing tonight will help fund research that may find an answer to why Ms. Lillian
May Towery and many other infants had to leave the comfort of our arms and move towards the Heavens so quickly.
It will help counsel families that are lost, confused, angry, hurt, scared, and a wild mix of many other emotions.
We could not think of a better way to spend our daughter’s birthday then to give birth to hope. Thank
you for joining us. God Bless, Melissa & Chris
